On June 12, 2018, a group of friends gathered on the steps of the California Capitol in Sacramento to let the world know that all people should have the freedom to pursue counseling and personal life changes that bring them true happiness. California politicians were trying to take that freedom away. Today, CHANGED Movement is an international grassroots network of people who have questioned their sexuality and moved away from LGBTQ culture and its sexual and gender “identities.”

Join us in sacramento June 11-12, 2025, to celebrate the founding of the CHANGED Movement!

CHANGED by Truth

Defending Biblical Sexuality 7 Years After AB 2943

a two-day symposium and lobbying event

On Wednesday, June 11th, join us at the Sheraton Grand to hear from national influencers in dialogue over gender ideology and its impacts in California. Understand the validity of the Bible’s anthropology in the face of gender ideology and gain language and clarity for cultural engagement.

Thursday, June 12th, meet us on the steps of the Capitol to hear CHANGED life stories and to remind CA legislators of the importance of free speech and freedom of religion in California. Then visit legislative offices with us to meet with State representatives in the Assembly and Senate to express concern.

Historical Significance

On June 12, 2018, California Family Council, Real Impact, Capitol Resource Institute, and Christians from across California organized a rally on the steps of the California State Capitol to oppose AB2943, a bill that threatened to ban resources helping people align their lives with biblical sexuality. They were joined by nearly 30 individuals who had left LGBT identities behind. For over two hours, these speakers shared their powerful testimonies of transformation through the power of Jesus Christ.

This pivotal moment led to:

  1. The publication of the first edition of "CHANGED: #OnceGay Stories," a collection of testimonies from those who left LGBT identities behind

  2. The formation of the CHANGED Movement, a growing international network of people who have experienced transformation through Christ

  3. Assemblyman Evan Low withdrawing AB2943 on the last day of the legislative calendar

  4. A critical victory for religious liberty and the freedom to pursue counseling aligned with personal faith and values

Seven years later, this anniversary event will celebrate these victories while preparing believers to face new challenges to biblical truth and religious freedom.
